Cancun air traffic has already surpassed its pre-pandemic levels — and now it’s setting new highs.

Cancun International Airport saw passenger traffic of 2.897 million last month, a more than 32 percent jump over the same period in 2022, according to newly-released data from ASUR, which manages the airport.

That included a 32.2 percent increase in both domestic and international traffic at the airport.

And it continued Cancun’s sizzling performance since the onset of the pandemic, when the destination’s latest renaissance began.

Last year, Cancun reported passenger traffic of just over 30 million, itself a nearly 36 percent jump over the previous year.

The growth has led more and more carriers to add flights to Cancun, particularly low-cost carriers like Frontier.
