Riu is set to open a pair of new resorts on the Caribbean coast of Mexico this year, Caribbean Journal has learned.
That will include the new Riu Latino in Costa Mujeres and the Riu Palace Kukulcan in Cancun.
Both openings were announced in a statement by Riu Owner Luis Riu, who said 2022 was “full to the brim of exciting projects.”
The Riu Latino is set in the fast-growing area of Costa Mujeres, dubbed by some as the “new” Cancun.
Riu has not yet revealed size or amenity details for either of the properties.
The two new properties come as Riu continues to unveil both new projects and new renovations across the region and its broader global portfolio.
Riu has also announced plans for another property in Mexico, with a renovation scheduled at the Riu Santa Fe in Los Cabos this year.
