Alaska Airlines is set to launch new service to one of Mexico’s fastest-growing destinations: Mazatlan.

The carrier will kick off new nonstop service between San Francisco and Mazatlan this winter, with flights set to launch on Dec. 18.

The flights will operate once weekly on Saturdays, according to the company.

“Our guests are eager to relax, disconnect and have fun, and the places we fly to in Mexico are ideal locations to do that,” said Brett Catlin, vice president of network and alliances at Alaska Airlines.

Alaska now serves eight destinations in Mexico, including Cancún, Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Loreto, Los Cabos, Manzanillo, Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara.

The airline is operating the service on Airbus A320 aircraft.

The flights will run through at least April 16.
