Statia’s New Tourism Push Is All About Adventure

The Quill, Statia's signature attraction.

Statia recently reopened for tourism, and now the Dutch Caribbean island has launched a new push to promote itself as an adventure hotspot.

The island’s St Eustatius Tourism Development Foundation is centered around a new video by filmmaker Franck Fougere, who takes viewers on a journey across Statia’s natural beauty.

Statia has long been a haven for adventure travelers, in large part due to its landmark hiking site, “The Quill.”

The video expands upon that, showing everything from the island’s signature Marine Park to its colonial-era forts.

“Especially now during the pandemic, we are glad to show the world our beautiful destination,” the STDF said in a statement.

Earlier this month, Statia reopened its borders to fully vaccinated travelers (you can find more info here).
