Marriott Names New Global Development Officer

Marriott International has named a new global development officer, the company announced this week. 

The company has tapped Carlton Ervin to the role, in which he will oversee development around the world, including in the Caribbean and Latin America, focusing on the expansion of Marriott’s portfolio. 

Ervin has been “instrumental in driving Marriott’s rooms growth and incredibly strong development pipeline,” said Stephanie Linnartz, the company’s recently-appointed president. 

Ervin had most recently served as chief development officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. 

Marriott has been rapidly expanding its footprint in the Caribbean, most notably with its recent alliance with Blue Diamond Resorts

Winair Adding More Flights to Statia

St Maarten-based regional airline Winair is expanding its service to the island of Statia (St Eustatius), Caribbean Journal has learned.
