Marriott Names New CEO

Marriott International has named its new chief executive officer following the passing of former CEO Arne Sorenson. 

The company has tapped Anthony “Tony” Capuano to the role effective immediately. 

Capuano, who has joined the company’s board of directors, had previously served as Marriott’s Group President, Global Development, Design and Operations services. 

Marriott has also announced the appointment of Stephanie Linnartz as its new president. Linnartz had been serving as Marriott’s Group President, Consumer Operations, Technology and Emerging Businesses.

He works thoughtfully and pragmatically with our owner and franchisee community and has been steadfast in ensuring Marriott delivers operational excellence and elevated customer experiences at our properties. Tony has a deep appreciation for Marriott’s thousands of associates who ultimately deliver on our customer and brand promise and I know he will be a superb steward of our culture. Capuano and Linnartz have been with Marriott since 1995 and 1997, respectively.
