Avianca is back on one of Latin America’s most important air corridors.

The airline has officially launched daily nonstop service between Caracas and Bogotá, restoring a historic link between Venezuela and Colombia and reestablishing a key gateway for onward travel across the region and beyond.

It’s part of what could be a tourism renaissance for Venezuela amid a potential economic opening — that includes American Airlines’ recent announcement that it would relaunch flights to Venezuela.

The first flight, AV143, departed from Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía and landed at El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, marking the formal return of the route to Avianca’s network.

With the restart, Avianca once again offers one daily flight in each direction between the two capitals, strengthening connectivity between the two neighboring countries after a comprehensive evaluation of operational and aviation safety conditions conducted in coordination with the relevant authorities.

A Daily Bridge Between Two Capitals

The restored service operates daily, providing both business and leisure travelers with consistent, year-round connectivity.

The current schedule is as follows:

Caracas to Bogotá departs at 12:10 pm and arrives at 1:15 pm.

Bogotá to Caracas departs at 7:40 am and arrives at 10:40 am.

The timing is designed to allow smooth connections through Bogotá’s El Dorado International Airport, one of South America’s largest and most important hubs (and a really huge airport to get around, if you’ve been there).

With the route fully reintegrated, travelers departing from Caracas now gain access to 83 destinations in 28 countriesacross Avianca’s broader network, spanning North America, Central America, the Caribbean, South America and Europe.

Rebuilding a Historic Connection

Avianca has connected Venezuela to its route network for more than 60 years, and the Caracas–Bogotá corridor has long functioned as a vital aerial bridge for families, commerce and tourism between the two countries.

The return of daily service signals renewed regional integration and reflects Avianca’s strategy of reinforcing its position as a connector across Latin America.
