Balearia Caribbean is planning to relaunch its Bahamas ferry service on Feb. 10, according to the company.

The service will operate between Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale and the island of Bimini.

Service will run on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with departure from Fort Lauderdale at 9 AM and the return from Bimini at 6:30 PM.

The company says it has undertaken a series of safety and sanitation protocols to ensure passenger safety, including temperature scans for each passenger, easy access to sanitizer dispensers in the terminal and vessel, and universal masking.

Capacity has also been reduced by 40 percent, the company said, while plexiglass dividers have been added on every seat and in common areas.

All travelers to The Bahamas need to show proof of a negative PCR test no more than five days prior to arrival; they also need to apply for a Travel Health Visa (you can find more here).
