Puerto Morelos, the tiny beach town in Mexico that’s one of the Caribbean’s best-kept secrets, is about to get a major new luxury hotel.

It’s called The Fives Oceanfront Puerto Morelos, the third outpost by The Fives, a growing boutique brand with two other properties in the Mexican Caribbean.

The Fives Oceanfront Puerto Morelos is slated to open its doors on July 1, a spokesperson for the property confirmed to Caribbean Journal

The 94-suite property will include “residential-style” units, with layouts ranging from one to three bedrooms and sizes from 646 square feet to more than 5,900 square feet.

Perhaps most notably, the Puerto Morelos beach hotel will include the first-ever RoMarley Beach House by Rohan Marley, the son of music icon Bob Marley.

“We want to create a distinctive experience that invites people to truly unwind, appreciate the beautiful natural surrounding and connect with their loved ones,” Marley said.

The Beach House will include an eatery, along with private “bali” beds and sun loungers. (It’s the latest Marley addition to the company, which opened the first-ever Marley Coffee outside of Jamaica at its Playa del Carmen location).

“The Fives Oceanfront will offer guests a relaxing oceanfront respite that includes numerous opportunities to awaken the senses be it through its inspiring settings, distinctive encounters and savory gastronomy. ” said Joaquin Serna, CEO of TM Real Estate Group, parent company of The Fives Hotels and Residences, in a statement.  “We are excited to also be the first location for RoMarley Beach House that will present a new experience in the Riviera Maya.”

Amenities at the new luxe property will include a pair of infinity pools (including one on the rooftop deck), along with a full-service spa (with three treatment “cabins”) and a fitness center.

All of the suites will include Smart TVs and bluetooth audio systems, and some of the units will have their own outdoor hot tubs or private plunge pools.

It’s a big injection of energy into the endlessly charming fishing village best known as the home of one of Mexico’s top luxury resorts, the family-friendly Grand Residences Riviera Cancun.
