IHG’s fast-growing Holiday Inn Express brand has opened another new outpost in Mexico, the company said this week.

The latest Holiday Inn Express to make its debut in the country is the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Ensenada Centro in Baja California.

It’s the brand’s first property in the leisure destination, and part of what seems to be a trend for the company in launching Holiday Inn Express properties in traditionally leisure destinations, most recently in Playa del Carmen earlier this year.

“We are extremely pleased to open the first Holiday Inn Express & Suites hotel in this beautiful tourist destination which is known for its natural attractions. This hotel will serve as an ideal place for meetings and for guests visiting for medical purposes or culinary tourism. Our guests now have a smart and simple lodging option in the region that also provides IHG Rewards Club members with a very attractive place to redeem their points.”

The new hotel project is set in the heart of Ensenada’s main tourism district, positioned largely for the popular wine routes that populate the area.

The 88-room hotel has an outdoor heated pool, a 24-hour fitness center, two meeting rooms and a business center, among other amenities.
