In Grand Cayman, Redefining the Pinnacle of Caribbean Real Estate

I’ve just ordered breakfast, requested a tee time at North Sound Golf Club for this afternoon and booked the spa treatment for tomorrow — all achieved with a few texts with Megan.

Megan is the unit’s personal, 24-7 concierge, one of the Kimpton Seafire’s standout front desk agents who ensure that every request is taken care of, comfortably and promptly.

But I’m not staying at the Kimpton. And I’m not a hotel guest.

I’m at the Residences at Seafire— which means that right now, I live at the Seafire.  And that is a rather important distinction.

The Residences are leading Cayman developer Dart Real Estate’s first entry into residential resort living, adjacent to the celebrated Kimpton but a world unto itself.

The LEED-silver residential tower is a collection of 62 high-design residences set across 10 stories, many with views of the North Sound and Seven Mile Beach, ranging from studios to spectacular five-bedroom penthouses.

But these aren’t your traditional Caribbean luxury condominium units.

The striking design is a new definition of luxury, where a modern aesthetic meets the natural environment, where green construction marries resilience.

Even more, the unique patios and terraces give every unit a true indoor-outdoor feel, even if you’re 10 stories above the sea, thanks to the inspired work by Guerin Glass.

Dart partnered with SB Architects on the project, with some of the units are even designed by luminaries like Martyn Lawrence Bullard, with several others custom-furnished by Restoration Hardware.

And the design truly is marvelous, from walls that belong in MoMa to cleverly designed patios that give individual bedrooms the feeling of being outdoors, on demand.

On the roof, there’s a lounge and private club called The Nest, while owners have access to all of the same amenities as the resort — from daily housekeeping to room service, and some, like 24-7 concierge access, even better than at the resort.

Several of the residences are, as they were for us, in the hotel rental pool, meaning you can stay here even if you don’t live here.

But living here truly is the ultimate Grand Cayman life, with all of the beauty and luxury of these designer units combined with hotel amenities and the aforementioned all-day concierge.

Here, you really feel the impact of thoughtful design, where the soaring high ceilings and the thoughtful little touches actually improve your day, and the resort amenities only more so.

The more time you spend here, the more you feel it, a kind of ethereal ambience, where by some alchemy the serenity of Seven Mile Beach is imbued into the unit.

Right now, Grand Cayman is at the forefront of defining the new Caribbean, something you immediately see as you drive around Seven Mile Beach, as you watch new developments sprouting up on the East End, as you marvel at Camana Bay.

And this is right at the heart of it, a cosmopolitan, stunning project that is a sign of what Caribbean luxury can be.

And it’s the pinnacle of Grand Cayman living.
