Puerto Rico’s El San Juan Hotel Set to Reopen

One of Puerto Rico’s most iconic hotels is about to reopen its doors.

The famous El San Juan hotel, now part of Hilton’s Curio Collection, will reopen Oct. 1, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The reopening was confirmed by Puerto Rico tourism officials.

The 388-room property in the beach neighborhood of Isla Verde has been undergoing a significant restoration project, covering everything from the hotel’s oceanfront villas to its pools and landscaping.

All guest rooms will return to the hotel’s “classic” aesthetic, according to Two Roads Hospitality, which manages and operates the resort.

Before Hurricane Maria, the property had already completed a multimillion-dollar renovation project.

It will be one of two important reopenings for the destination in October, along with the planned relaunch of Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve.
