Curaçao Is Seeing a Surge in U.S. Visitors

The Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao is seeing a surge in tourism from the United States so far this year, according to a new report from the Curaçao Tourist Board.

Through the first five months of 2018, Curaçao reported 29,249 visitors from the U.S., an 11 percent increase compared to the same period in 2017.

The island also reported a seven percent increase in tourist arrivals from Canada, with a total of 12,837 arrivals from Canada in the same period.

North American visitors to Curaçao contributed around $69.2 million to the local economy in the period, according to estimates.
