Resorts World Bimini “fared well” during Hurricane Irma and is slated to reopen on Sept. 27, the Bahamian property announced this week.

There was no structural damage to the property, officials said, but heavy storm surge will mean additional repair work for the resort’s marina.

“Clean up efforts are currently underway to restore the resort in preparation of welcoming guests,” the property said in a statement.

Resorts World said existing reservations remain in its system, with additional reservations being taken “upon availability.”

“We are thankful to all our team members who worked tirelessly to prepare the resort for the storm and for all their efforts and support and also appreciate the thoughts and good wishes that came from so many of you,” Resorts World Bimini President Patricia Lawrence said.
