Aloft Hotels is coming to the Caribbean.

The Aloft brand will make its regional debut at a new $125 million mixed-use development called The District in San Juan, Puerto Rico’s Miramar Convention Center District.

The hotel, which has already broken ground, is expected to open in the second half of 2019 with 175 loft-like guestrooms over seven stories.

“Aloft Hotels is the perfect match for The District,” said Federico Stubbe, Jr., CEO of developer PRISA Group. “Its modern, cutting-edge design and vibrant social atmosphere cater to a new generation of travelers, young in age and young at heart, who appreciate style and a buzzing social scene – all at competitive rates. The Aloft guest and experience fit perfectly with the fun and festive atmosphere we envision for The District.”

The property will include Aloft standards including the W XYZ bar, the Re:mix lounge area, the Re:fuel cafe and an infinity pool and bar area with a 1,152-square-foot fitness center.

“We are excited to be joining The District, bringing Aloft Hotels’ eclectic, social vibe to locals and guests alike,” said Bridget Higgins, Senior Director, Aloft Hotels. “From the W XYZ bar to our Live at Aloft Hotels music program, Aloft San Juan offers a standout hotel option with unparalleled experiences for those looking to enhance their experience in this beautiful Caribbean destination.”

The groundbreaking comes as another hip Marriott brand, AC Hotels, debuted in San Juan earlier this year.
