It was called Hog Island. But in 1960 this oasis just offshore from Nassau was re-named the far more fitting Paradise Island. What better way to describe this four-mile-long Bahamian retreat that’s fringed by a swath of ivory sand and washed by cerulean seas?

Here, on the section of the northern shore where The Cove at Atlantis presides and a leaning coconut palm is one of the resort’s most popular photo opportunities, is one of the best places to appreciate its beauty.
