The Caribbean has a big new waterpark.

Splash Island Water Park St Lucia held its long-anticipated grand opening Aug. 1, and has welcomed over 1,300 locals and visitors alike in its first week of operation.

The attraction offers the Caribbean’s first floating, inflatable sports park, with over a dozen features including monkey bars, The Ice Berg XXL, The Action Tower and climbing wall, the Cliff, a trampoline, volleyball court, hurdles, wiggle bridge, The Spinner and The Double Rocker.

Bay Gardens Resorts Director, Julianna Ward-Destang – an accountant turned theme park entrepreneur – conceptualized plans for the park in March of 2015, envisioning a novel, fun, and safe attraction for her native St Lucia.

The family-friendly park is staffed by a team of certified lifeguards and administrators, the property said.
