Baha Mar Ltd has filed a claim in English High Court against China State Construction Engineering Corporation, the contractor on its delayed resort project in Nassau.

The claim asserts that CSCEC, the parent company of China Construction America (the parent of CCA Bahamas) is liable in respect to guarantee and performance obligations related to the construction of the project.

The suit alleges that Baha Mar is entitled to a variety of financial remedies.

Baha Mar Ltd filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy claim in US Federal Court this week, citing delays by the project’s contractor.

The $3.5 billion project had originally been slated to open in December 2014, but has been beset by a series of delays.
