Rum Journal: A Banana Cocktail From the Jamaica Inn

We love the venerable Jamaica Inn for its chilled-out and elegant-yet-unstuffy vibe.

But we love bartender Teddy, who’s been serving ‘em up for a whopping 50 years, even more.

So today we’re featuring an iconic cocktail straight from Teddy’s eponymous beachfront bar. We can’t think of a better way to share the love – or to get “dirty.”

Teddy’s Frozen Dirty Banana


1 ounce dark rum
½ ounce rum cream
½ ounce Tia Maria (or other coffee liqueur)
½ sliced banana
splash of simple syrup


Blend all ingredients together until frozen and pour into a highball glass. Garnish with a cherry.
