The new Capella Marigot Bay resort in St Lucia is set to open on Aug. 15, according to the property’s Web site.

The opening will come after a multimillion-dollar renovation of what was the former Discovery Hotel, which was purchased last year by a group of New York-based investors.

The property will be the first Caribbean resort for Capella, which currently operates resorts in Cabo San Lucas, Dusseldorf, Ixtapa, Mexico, Singapore and Washington.

It will include an Auriga spa, a Capella Marina and a retail village.

The resort said it would also have a feature unique in the region — a rum cave, replete with its own “Rum Maestro” and featuring local rums from the island.

It is also slated to open a resort on the Riviera Maya in 2015.
