What role should Martinique’s diaspora community play in its development and economy?
That was among the issues addressed as the French Caribbean department held its first-ever Diaspora Forum this week at the Madiana conference centre.

The purpose of the forum, which began over the weekend, was to “highlight the achievements of Martinique worldwide,” according to a statement from the Regional Council.
The forum also sought to help young people and entrepreneurs “better prepare for perspectives on globalization and to examine diaspora investment opportunities in Martinique.
