Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort in St Lucia has named Jacques Chretien as its executive chef and director of food and beverage.

Chretien will help enhance the resort’s dining options, including a new Asian menu at its Cane Bar, the property said.

Chretien’s three decades in the industry include stops at the Michelin-starred La Tour d’Argent in Paris and Belgium’s Chez Bruneau.

The property said he was “passionate about using the freshest local ingredients and incorporating traditional St. Lucian flavors and techniques in his dishes, taking regular trips to the local market for organic vegetables and meat.”

Sugar Beach recently underwent a $100 million renovation that added 59 new villas, eight new bungalows and revamped 11 rooms, among other changes.
