Bernice Fidelia, Haiti’s Minister of Haitians Living Abroad, has resigned from the country’s Cabinet, according to a statement from the office of Haiti Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe.

Fidelia will be replaced “until further notice” by Foreign Minister Pierre Richard Casimir.

It is the latest departure from Haiti’s Cabinet, following the resignations of Communication Minister Regine Godefroy and Finance Minister Marie Carmelle Jean-Marie in April.

Fidelia joined the government as part of a Cabinet reshuffle by Lamothe in January.

Most recently, she had visited Turks and Caicos last month for talks with TCI Premier Rufus Ewing on the issue of Haitian immigration.

No official reason was given for her resignation.
