AMResorts to Open New Hotel in Dominican Republic’s Punta Cana

AMResorts will be opening a new property in the Dominican Republic’s Punta Cana this year.

The 750-room Now Onyx Punta Cana is slated to open in November, according to the company.

The Onyx Punta Cana is one of two new properties for the brand this year, with the other being the Secrets Puerto Los Cabos in Mexico.

Last year, AMResorts opened three new resort properties in the Caribbean: Secrets The Vine Cancun, Secrets Aura Cozumel and Sunscape Curacao.

The Punta Cana region has been seeing a wave of new hotel activity, led by the recent construction launch of the Westin Puntacana.
