The Maria’s By the Sea hotel in Tortola in the British Virgin Islands has debuted its expansion.

The property has added 32 new bedrooms, four bedroom suites, a conference room, a banquet hall, an executive board room and a business centre, with plans for a new fitness gym.

“Overall, I think this new wing will meet all of the business traveller’s needs, by meeting their needs, I believe we in turn will meet the needs of our leisure travelers,” said, Julia Dawson, owner and manager at Maria’s By the Sea. “The design and features of our new wing make it ideal for those seeking to host weddings, receptions, meetings and conferences. Our rooms are very large and very spacious for accommodating persons traveling to the BVI for business and vacation.”

The property is located on Waterfront Drive in Road Town. It first opened in 1975 with 10 guest rooms, over the years adding 30 new rooms.

This expansion brings the property to 76 units.

The Dawson family continues to operate the property.
