The Moorings Has a New-Look Base in Tortola

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - June 2, 2023

Leading charter yacht company The Moorings has unveiled a new-look base in Tortola, the home of nearly 300 of its ships.

That includes a new Moorings Market, the product of years of work, with a new full-service provisioning experience, fresh fruits and vegetables, deli meats and wines and spirits.

Thanks to its partnership with Sail Caribbean Divers, The Moorings has opened a new Sail Caribbean Divers location with a selection of waterspouts items.

The base has also reopened the popular Charlie’s Restaurant, adding a new head chef, overhauling the menu and debuting a full bar at the waterfront hotspot. Charlie’s is part of a dining offering that also includes a poolside eatery and the Ginny’s Corner coffee shop.

The Moorings says it has a “rejuvenated fleet” in Tortola, with mostly new yachts like the 4200, 4500 and the flagship 5000.

The company’s power-catamaran portfolio includes the 403PC, 464PC and the 534PC, along with plans to add 12 new monohull yachts this fall.

The makeover comes as the British Virgin Islands just welcomed its first nonstop flights from the United States this week on American Airlines, in what should be a significant boost for the destination.
