Wyndham has opened its first hotel in Costa Rica, with the 111-room Wyndham Garden San José Escazú debuting in San Juan.

The hotel is owned by Rocca Portafolio Comercial and operated by Desarrollos Hoteleros. The latter has also been increasing its Caribbean presence in Puerto Rico.

“The opening of Wyndham Garden San José Escazú is another integral step in our mission to expand Wyndham Hotel Group’s presence in Latin America and introduce new brands to better serve lodging needs,” said Daniel del Olmo, senior vice president and managing director for Latin America at Wyndham Hotel Group. “We are thrilled to bring the Wyndham brand to Costa Rica in an area so central to corporate complexes, shopping and fine dining, offering business and leisure travelers the utmost in service and convenience.”

In a release, the hotel said guest rooms included 37-inch LED flat screen TVs, coffee makers and laptop-sized safes.

The hotel also offers designated floors for women with female-friendly amenities, it said.

The hotel is the third Wuyndham Hotel Group property in Costa Rica, following the Wyndham San Jose Sabana and the Ramada Plaza San Jose Herradura.
