There were a series of earthquakes of at least 4.4-magnitude on the Richter scale Wednesday, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quakes included tremors of 4.4-magnitude, 4.7-magnitude and 5.2-magnitude.

A fourth earthquake of magnitude 4.3 shook the area 85 miles north of Road Town. Several others followed later Wednesday evening.

There were not yet any reports of shaking felt on the islands themselves, given the distance.

The latest quake was approximately 65 miles of Anegada in the British Virgin Islands. The others occurred at 64 miles and 45 miles north of Anegada, respectively.

There have been seven earthquakes off the coast of the British Virgin Islands of more than 4,0-magnitude since Aug. 25.
