Turks and Caicos’ Newest Resort Is Opening in November, With Its Own Private Lagoon
Maybe you know Grace Bay Beach: that impossibly white sand, the satin-turquoise water. It’s a destination that has always been beloved in the Caribbean, only more so since the pandemic.
But Turks and Caicos’ island of Providenciales is far more than just Grace Bay, and in recent years, more and more areas around the island have been developing into new TCI destinations.
That includes the newest resort in Turks and Caicos, which is planning to open its doors in November: South Bank, the project by developer Windward that is joining the portfolio of Grace Bay Resorts.

South Bank is set on the southern coast of the island at the far southwestern tip of Long Bay, another destination that has become increasingly hot in recent years.
So what do you need to know?
As with many resorts in Providenciales, the resort is a residential one: that means a group of villas and residences that offer overnight guests the combination of home-style luxury and resort amenities.
Notably, South Bank will be the first-ever property in the destination with its own “swimming lagoon,” a protected area that’s particularly kid-friendly, surrounded by a white-sand beach.
“South Bank represents our vision for a new kind of oceanside living, where the connection to the water is more than just a view—it’s a way of life,” said Ingo Reckhorn, co-founder of Windward, the developer of South Bank. “We aimed to blend contemporary architecture with the natural beauty and tranquility of the ocean, creating spaces where every moment is a reminder of the serene and powerful presence of the water,” he added. “It was a natural decision to partner with Grace Bay Resorts, whose commitment to excellence and bespoke service complements our philosophy and enhances the sophisticated sanctuary we have created.”

The property itself is a mix of 19 “Ocean Estate Villas,” along with another 18 “Lagoon Villas,” along with 38 “boathouses,” the latter located adjacent to the South Bank Marina.
So what will the resort cost?
South Bank is already accepting reservations. You can save up to 35 percent on stays if you book now, with rates currently starting at $888 per night — a rather good value compared to daily rates in most luxury properties in Turks and Caicos.
The Grace Bay Resorts portfolio also includes the recently-opened Rock House, a cliffside resort that’s another creative new addition to the island. (That’s along with properties like the Grace Bay Club and others).
