St Vincent and the Grenadines is launching a national culture project aimed at developing a national cultural policy for the country.

The move was announced by Elvis Charles, Junior Minister in the Ministry of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Culture.

According to Charles, the project, which is being funded by UNESCO to the tune of $43,000, aims to develop cultural diversity in St Vincent.

The initiative will focus primarily on the development of the national policy that was previously established in the country a decade ago.

Charles said a “broad national policy” is necessary to guide the way forward for cultural diversification.
