Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic met today with Organization of American States Secretary General Jose Miguel Insulza at the organization’s headquarters in Washington, DC.

Jeremic, who is a candidate for the presidency of the UN General Assembly, talked with Insulza about the current political affairs in Latin America and the Caribbean, along with those of Europe.

The two also discussed public security and violence in the Western Hemisphere, along with the upcoming 2012 OAS General Assembly in Cochabamba, Bolivia and the present dispute over the Falkland Islands.

Serbia, which is slated to hold parliamentary elections this year, is an OAS Observer State, and contributes to some of its programmes.
