Iberia Expands Flights to the Dominican Republic

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 21, 2022

Spanish carrier Iberia has expanded its service to the Dominican Republic this winter.

The airline has added two more flights each week between Madrid and the Dominican Republic, meaning a total of 13 weekly frequencies.

That’s along with the addition of larger Airbus A330-200 aircraft on the route, meaning a total of nearly 270,000 seats per year.

Iberia and the Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Tourism this week signed an agreement to strengthen their tourism cooperation.

“This agreement is really something transcendent and of great importance for our tourism,” said Dominican Republic Tourism Minister David Collado.

Iberia has been flying to the Dominican Republic for 55 years.

“Iberia has always been committed to this strategic market through a rapid recovery and providing stability to the operation, without cancellations in the short term, for this reason, we are sure that our collaboration will continue to be as fruitful as it has been so far,” said María Jesús López Solás, Commercial Director of Iberia’s Network and Alliances.
