Archipelago Expands With Two More Hotels in Cuba

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - July 29, 2020

Indonesia-based Archipelago International is expanding in Cuba.

The company said this week it had been awarded management contracts for a pair of hotels in Cuba: the first is the 320-room Panorama Hotel in Havana, which will be rebranded as the ASTON Panorama Hotel.

The second is the ASTON Costa Verde Beach Resort, a 749-room resort on the northwestern coast of Cuba.

Both of the rebranded hotels will be opening on Dec. 1, 2020.

They join Aston’s existing portfolio in Cuba, which includes the Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas Beach Resort, along with two hotels currently in development: the GRAND ASTON Varadero Beach Resort and GRAND ASTON La Habana Hotel.

Both of those hotels are slated to make their debuts in 2021.

“We will continue to invest in the resources needed to ensure that the hotels we manage and operate in Cuba perform above and beyond our guest’s expectations,” said John Flood, president and CEO of Archipelago. “There is no doubt that in the post pandemic travel context, Cuba will stand out as one of the world’s leading destinations for safe, healthy and environmentally friendly travel.”
