The Bahamas’ Pink Sands Resort Is Open Again

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - July 6, 2020

The Pink Sands Resort on Harbour Island in The Bahamas has officially reopened, following a $2 million renovation project.

The resort’s relaunch comes after The Bahamas reopened for tourism on July 1.

“We are thrilled to debut renovations at Pink Sands,” said Andreas A. Ioannou, Chief Executive Officer of Orchestra Hotels + Resorts. “After a $2 million dollar investment in upgrading and reimagining the property, the resort is more beautiful than ever and truly represents the vision of reclusive luxury we have always strived to deliver.”

The renovation project, led by ID & Design International, covered the resort cottages, public spaces and Blue Bar.

“With strong West Indies appeal and Caribbean roots, the Pink Sands updated interiors have maintained the spirit of the relaxed luxury of the resort’s history and continues to be authentic, while elevated, super relaxed and comfortable” said Founder and President of IDDI, Sherif Ayad. “It wasn’t about just designing something pretty; Pink Sands exudes beauty naturally. It was about capturing a unique experience…a moment in time.”

The property, which has 29 villas, cottages and luxury homes on a 20-acre site, is set on the iconic Pink Sand Beach.

“It’s incredibly exciting to see the island bustling again, and the timing couldn’t be more perfect as we’ve complemented our renovation,” said Kym Nielsen, General Manager of Pink Sands Resort. “While these recent times certainly will change the way, we service guests in the future, Pink Sands has always had a natural aesthetic that lends itself well to luxury social distancing. Our villas, cottages and luxury homes can accommodate generations of families or friends, yet still provide the reclusiveness wrapped in opulence to retain that Pink Sands experience.”
