The Saint Lucia Jazz Festival has teamed up with New York City’s Jazz at Lincoln Center for this year’s edition, taking one of the region’s greatest festivals and raising it to the next level.

And now the island’s hotels are in on the action, with a series of programs for travelers visiting Saint Lucia for the festival — some giving discounts of up to 50 percent off.

More than two dozen hotels are now offering special rates and other perks during the festival, which is being held May 4-12.

That includes everything from the Bay Gardens portfolio of hotels to the luxe Marigot Bay Resort to the eco-chic Fond Doux Plantation and Resort, among others.

Long the Caribbean’s premier jazz festival, this year’s event will feature artists who have performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s season concerts, tours and global outposts.

Christian McBride, Ledisi, Etienne Charles, Russell Hall, and Patrick Bartley will serve as artists in residence for the festival, while Gregory Porter, Dianne Reeves, Catherine Russell, Somi, The Baylor Project, Veronica Swift, members of the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra and regional musicians will also be performing.

The festival has been running for almost three decades.
