Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar met with a Guatemalan trade delegation Thursday to talk about the potential for increased trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Persad-Bissessar was particularly interested in a proposal to establish a Palm oil refinery in Trinidad and Tobago.

Representing Guatemala was the country’s Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, Guisela Atalida Godinez Sazo, who was joined by Guatemala’s Economy Minister Luis Velasquez Qurio and a trade contingent.

Persad-Bissessar was accompanied by Trade Minister Stephen Cadiz.
