The Caribbean’s Biggest Travel Conference

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 8, 2019

By the Caribbean Journal staff

The biggest travel conference in the Caribbean is back again for 2019, this time on the white sands of Montego Bay in Jamaica.

The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s Caribbean Travel Marketplace is headed to the Montego Bay Convention Center Jan. 29-31.

This year’s CTM, which is produced by CHTA in collaboration with co-hosts the Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association, the Jamaica Tourist Board and the Jamaica Ministry of Tourism, regularly brings together more than 1,000 delegates from 26 Caribbean countries — along with buyers from almost two dozen markets around the world.

The conference also brings together high-level executives and key decision makers; wholesalers and tour operators; online travel agencies and the media for thousands of meetings and appointments.

This year’s event, the 37th annual edition of the conference, comes as the region’s tourism imprint continues to grow globally and tourism prospects for 2019 are looking strong, according to Frank Comito, CEO of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association.

“With new routes and upgraded aircraft announcements over recent months, market-savvy hoteliers are positioned to increase occupancy and generate additional business,” Comito said.
