A Special Eco-Tourism Experience in Dominica

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - March 10, 2018

Dominica is making its comeback from Hurricane Maria.

The vast majority of attractions are open, hotels are rebuilding (including some that are already reopened like the Fort Young), and restaurants are relaunching.

The best way to help the island is to come and visit — right now.

And the island’s top hotel, Secret Bay, which is slated to reopen later this year, is offering a unique eco-tourism experience to give visitors the chance to play a role in the island’s recovery.

Tibay Villas.

“Your priceless contribution to our planet begins here in Dominica, the Nature Island of the Caribbean,” the hotel said in a statement. “During this unique eco-travel experience, join famed island naturalists in the ecological survey and restoration of one of the world’s most treasured ecosystems.

That’s along with a series of unique experiences, from walking the Syndicate Nature Reserve with a local birding expert; touring the Roseau Valley; gardening at Secret Bay and conducting a coastal survey with a local fisherman.

Accommodations are at the Tibay Villas on the island’s north coast, with sweeping views of the sea, free Wi-Fi, full kitchens, and a $98 per night price tag.
