Trinidad Finance Minister Winston Dookeran presented a $7.4 billion ($47 Billion in TTD) budget for 2011/2012 in an announcement at the House of Representatives, which is currently meeting at Port of Spain’s International Waterfront Complex.

The calculation was based on a $75 per barrel oil price.

Approximately 38 percent of the total projected revenue came from the energy sector, he said, with the remainder coming outside of energy.

Total expenditure is projected at $8.6 billion, or 4.89 percent of GDP, with a debt-to-GDP ratio Dookeran called “sustainable and within international benchmarks.”
