Spike TV’s Lip Sync Battle Is Coming to Carnival Cruise Ships

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - August 31, 2016

Carnival Cruise Line is partnering with Spike TV’s show “Lip Sync Battle’ for a unique new cruise ship experience.

The partnership is a recreation of the show, which pits contestants in a head-to-head competition to create the “most unforgettable lip-sync performances.”

The experience includes elaborate props and costumes, high-tech lighting and sound effects and even back-up dancers.

“We’re delighted to offer this exciting new entertainment activity to our guests,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “Lip Sync Battle Carnival takes the brand’s participatory fun to the next level, providing our guests with a chance to showcase their talents and demonstrate their creativity with their fellow guests cheering them on.”

Contestants will be chosen at the beginning of their cruise following rounds of competitions on the ship’s Lido Deck.

Two finalists will be selected based on their “enthusiasm, originality and creativity,” the company said.

“Lip Sync Battle has proven to be a huge worldwide hit with families and we are thrilled to bring our unique and distinctive format to the world’s most popular cruise line,” said Casey Patterson, executive producer, Lip Sync Battle.  “It’s the perfect extension of our global brand, as now with Lip Sync Battle Carnival, our fans can join the party and show off their lip sync battling skills.”

Lip Sync Battle Carnival will debut on the new Carnival Vista cruise ship, with rollout on select ships in 2017.
