Skydiving on a Caribbean Cruise Ship

I like getting high in the Caribbean.

No, not that kind of high. I’m talking about the kind of high you can only get while sailing on Royal Caribbean’s newest vessel, Quantum of the Seas.

The world’s third-largest cruise ship, which begins sailing eastern, western and southern Caribbean itineraries from New Jersey’s Cape Liberty this month, is jam-packed with first-at-sea activities, including bumper cars, a roller-skating rink and circus school. But what really floats my boat (ahem!) is the onboard skydiving simulator RipCord by iFLY.

Offered complimentary to all passengers, RipCord allows you to enjoy all the fun of skydiving with none of the fear. Just watch a three-minute instructional video; don a jumpsuit, goggles, earplugs and helmet; and then get ready for liftoff!

Check out the video of my “dive,” and you’ll understand why if you’re on a cruise ship in the middle of the Caribbean, it’s the only way to fly.
