Caribbean Style: Checking Out Tommy Bahama’s New Watch Collection

Not all wristwatches are made for the Caribbean.

As is always true in the tropics, there’s a proper vibe, a proper style.

And Tommy Bahama has you covered, with a new series of wristwatches perfectly tailored for the heat and sand of the West Indies — with a Pacific twist.

Tommy Bahama’s new 2014 Fall/Winter collection has three lines: one each for the air, land and sea, all with the brand’s famous embrace of the relaxed lifestyle.

Our favourite, which comes from the “land” line, is the Kona Grand Prix Chronograph, a handsome design with a race-inspired, three-hand face with a genuine leather carbon strap.

The company says the “land” line is “inspired by a love for fine things.”

“From beachside resorts to cigars, boats and cars, this collection celebrates the relaxed lifestyle with modern designs created to transition easily from day to evening,” and it’s a rather apt description.

The watches are made for Tommy Bahama by the Geneva Watch Group, which produces for a host of lifestyle brands — meaning these timepieces are the perfect marriage of island elegance and Swiss craftsmanship.

Prices range from $115 to $350.
