It’s not even really a question anymore — Tim Duncan is the greatest power forward of all time — and the best Caribbean NBA player ever.

It took him an extra year, but Tim Duncan brought home his fifth NBA championship on Sunday night.

Duncan had 14 points and five rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs routed the Miami Heat, 104-87, to win the series four games to one and bring home Duncan’s and the Spurs’ fifth championship.

After coming within seconds of the title last year, Duncan had help this year from young sensation Kawhi Leonard, who had 22 and 10 to take home the NBA Finals MVP award.

Duncan, a native of Christiansted, grew up a swimmer until he turned to basketball, leading him to a stellar career at Wake Forest University and a selection as the number one overall pick in 1997 by the Spurs.

He quickly took the Spurs to the finals, winning in 1999 while teamed with David Robinson and then four more times: 2003, 2005, 2007 and now in 2014.

The only question is, will he return for a shot at a sixth?
