Martinique Regional Council President Serge Letchimy is leading a high-level business delegation to Brazil this week.
The visit, which will officially begin on Tuesday, will focus on improving relations with the government of the Brazilian state of Para.
The trip will include the signature of a cooperation agreement between Martinique and Para and a lecture on the theme of biodiversity and development.
In a statement, Letchimy said the previous two missions between Martinique and Para had yielded major guidelines for cooperation, including areas like agro-industry and livestock, renewable energy and tourism.
Letchimy is being accompanied this week by business leaders including pharmacist Dr Emmanuel Nossin and Professor Philip Joseph of the University of the West Indies, among others.
