Grenada Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell departed the country Thursday for a visit to Washington.

Mitchell is traveling to the US to participate in the annual meetings at the World Bank and the IMF in Washington.

The government said Mitchell would put forward preliminary proposals covering “a broad range of issues including income tax and property tax.”

Following his Washington trip, Mitchell will head to New York City and then the United Kingdom, where he will meet with “a number of business leaders and potential investors,” along with the Grenadian diaspora, according to a statement.

Deputy Prime Minister Elvin Nimrod will serve as Acting Prime Minister during Mitchell’s absence. He will be accompanied by Press Secretary Kisha Alexander Grant.

Mitchell will return to Grenada on Oct. 18. He last visited the United States in late July.
