Rum Journal: A Ting With a Sting From St Kitts and Nevis

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - May 5, 2013

It’s St Kitts and Nevis’ most famous drink: the Ting With a Sting.

The best way to cool down, whether you’re relaxing on Nevis’ Pinneys Beach or making the rounds at the strip on Frigate Bay, is the Ting With a Sting, or just “String,” a rather simple cocktail featuring the locally-made Cane Spirit Rothschild, or CSR, sugar cane rum.

CSR is a potent white rum, that while potable on its own, is truly at home mixed with the Caribbean’s signature soda, the grapefruit-flavoured Ting.

So we offer the traditional recipe for a Sting to give your Sunday afternoon a little extra zest.

Ting With a Sting

1 oz CSR (or more, for an extra sting)
Chased with Ting to taste
Ice
