Cayman Finance, the organization that represents Cayman’s financial services industry, has named Gonzalo Jalles as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Jalles was formerly the CEO of HSBC Cayman until founding his own financial services consulting company, Javelin Group, late last year.

Prior to his six years leading HSBC in Caymna, he worked in HSBC’s London, Bermuda and Argentina offices as director of international development, managing director/CEO and Chief Investment Officer, respectively.

“Cayman Finance plays a crucial role promoting and supporting Cayman’s financial services industry both at home and abroad,” he said. “The organization has become the central, leading voice for Cayman’s financial services industry when speaking to government locally and internationally, as well as with local and international media.”

Jalles also led the Cayman Islands Bankers’ Association from 2009 to 2012 as president.

Cayman Finance Chairman Richard Coles said the group was “extremely happy that Mr Jalles has agreed to join us as CEO.”
