The Bahamas wouldn’t let Jamaica have all the fun.
Continuing the country’s strong Olympic tradition, the Bahamian men’s 4×400-metre relay team brought home the gold medal in London, besting the United States and Trinidad and Tobago in 2:56:72, a new national record.
The Bahamian squad included Demetrius Pinder, Chris Brown, Ramon Miller and Michael Mathieu.
It was the Bahamas’ first medal at the London 2012 Olympics.
The US finished in 2:57:05, while Trinidad and Tobago took home bronze with a time of 2:59:40, which was also a national record.
