St Lucia’s government has announced the appointment of several new diplomats, highlighted by the Ambassador Menissa Rambally, the country’s new Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

St Lucia has also named Consul General Michael Willius as the new head of the country’s Diplomatic Mission in Canada.

Consul General Yasminene Walcott is the new face of St Lucia’s Foreign Mission to the French Overseas Departments of Martinique, Guadeloupe and French Guiana.

Walcott, who represented St Lucia in the Miss World pageant in 1994, will be based in Martinique.

“As the new St Lucian diplomats assume their roles with a mandate to explore new frontiers of opportunity for the island’s development, the government of St Lucia wishes to thank former UN Ambassador Dr Donatus Keith St Aimee, former Consul General to Canada Stephen Julien and former Consul General to Martinique Keats Compton for their services to our country, and we wish them well in their future endeavors,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
