Legendary Antiguan cricketer Sir Vivian Richards will be honoured with a week of celebrations to mark his 60th birthday in March.

The festivities will begin with a Breast Cancer awareness walk starting at the Antigua Recreational Grounds, where “Sir Viv” made the fastest Test century, to Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds.

Richards said he was “humbled” to be associated with Breast Friends, a Breast Cancer awareness organization.

“All my career, I have strived to do good for my community and if we can raise monies and create greater awareness for a disease that affects most of us in some way, then it will make my birthday even more memorable,” he said.

Richards was voted one of the five Cricketers of the Century in 2000 by a 100-member panel of experts.

The week will also include an Invitational Golf Tournament featuring three other cricketing legends: Sir Garfield Sobers, Sir Ian Botham and Sir Richard Hadley.
